Gravel driveway to welding shop in Lucan
Written by admin, 20 May 2026
Now we have a new gravel driveway to our welding shop in Lucan. The new gravel driveway is 75 feet wide and offers smooth slope from the Clandenboye Dr. to our shop. In 2025 we have lost many clients coming to our shop with heavy equipment for welding repairs of cracks. Unfortunately, they could not enter our front yard. Our old gravel driveway was 14 feet wide and has steep slope leading to the shop. The old gravel driveway has has been built in 1954. The improvement of this driveway was my first priority for 2026.
Please take a look at the comparison of the old driveway with the new driveway.

The Clandeboye Dr. is a rather narrow rural road. Therefore the wide driveway with a comfortable slope will make turning from this road more comfortable for our clients.
You can contact us and send multiple images of your damaged heavy equipment. You can also text us images and send us videos with your verbal explanation on the phone number provided there. After we do an excellent job, please leave the 5 stars review of our service.

- The new driveway features a smooth slope, reducing the challenges of turning and backing up heavy trailers.

- Overall, the new gravel driveway enhances client experience and accessibility to the shop.
Old gravel driveway has caused troubles
The old gravel driveway has caused has been a trouble maker for us and for our clients. The old driveway sed to make our deliveries difficult for our suppliers. With only 14 feet wide, we have had difficulties backing up to the shop with our 20 ft trailer too. The narrow Clendeboye Dr. makes a wide turn on the road impassible for 20 ft long trailer. And part of the turn we must do on the driveway.
Last year many clients refused to come to our shop due to uncomfortable driveway. Many of them even didn’t try to come. Also, many of them asked me to send them images of the driveway and front yard. And then they have refused to come. Additionally, many clients have complained that they come to our welding shop to repair it but they are afraid that this uncomfortable driveway will damage their equipment even more. In retrospective, they were right since many have cracks in main equipment frame.
That is why the new driveway was a priority for 2026. We can not be in position to experience losing clients due to lack of proper access to the shop.
New driveway makes turning comfortable
The new gravel driveway is 75 feet wide at the road and then very slowly narrows a bit when it gets closer to the shop. The elevation of a new driveway is at almost same level as Clandeboye Dr. Therefore even with 40 feet semi-trailer you can turn into front yard comfortably. We have also begun to increase the front yard square footage to make more parking spots for heavy equipment.
In fact, we are planning to provide additional parking spots for heavy equipment to the left side of the shop. We are increasing the elevation level to the left side of the shop when looking from the Clandeboye Dr. This alone will increase parking by about 350%.
Smooth slope
The smooth slope of the new driveway is a key to make comfortable turns with a long trailer or with heavy equipment. Since narrow Clandeboye Dr. is on higher elevation than our front yard the driver has experienced twisting of heavy equipment while making the turn. Backing up to the shop with a 20ft trailer was also difficult due to losing control while turning. The elevation difference was causing jumping of the trailer and then loss of control while turning.
